Baby with soft skin

Babies are angels in our arms. I love holding them in my arms and have a ‘baby talk’ with them. I love when they curl their fingers when I rub the baby’s hand. Baby feels so fresh and soft to hold. If you have a baby and need a few tips on having soft baby skin. The following are tips that my granny told me:

  •  Baby’s bath: Whenever you have to give a bath to a baby under a year don’t bathe him/her for more than 10 minutes as it may dry out their skin making it more porous. Bathing your baby with only water would be enough but if you need soap then use soap made of natural ingredients like coconut, olive oil or palm oil.
  •  Moisturise: Next step is to lock in the moisture and humidity from their bath. Oils and lotions help to restore moisture in your baby’s skin. Use oils and lotions that are made of herbal ingredients. You need to give the baby a good oil massage.
  •  Change diapers: Bottoms of babies are very sensitive and tend to develop rashes. So change diapers often to avoid irritation to skin. Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy.

  •  Clothing for babies: Use soft fabric and loose clothes for your baby. In our country, where humidity is high, it is better to clothe the baby in cotton clothes so baby feels comfortable in them. Vitamin D is essential for baby’s health so let their skin be exposed to sunlight. But, take care, as too much exposure to sun is not good. While washing your baby’s clothes, towels and bedding use a gentle detergent as it may irritate or develop itchy skin.
  • Sharp objects or toys: Take care that the baby does not get hurt due to some sharp objects around the house or if there are toys with sharp edges. Get rid of such sharp objects or toys in your home to keep the baby safe and sound.

Follow this simple steps today and make your baby’s skin soft and beautiful. Keep these tips in mind and use to keep your baby’s skin healthy.

Dr. Kurien

Father of the White Revolution

Can you guess, who I am referring to here. He is known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution’, the world’s largest agricultural development programme. He has founded organisations Amul, Institute of Rural Management Anand. He has been awarded Padma Vibushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. Today, he would have celebrated his 94th birthday, if he were alive. He is none other than Dr.Verghese Kurien.
Google celebrates his 94th birthday with Google Doodle on Dr.Verghese Kurien. Some other institutions under him were Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd and National Dairy Development Board. Operation Flood brought India on the global dairy production map covering over 72,000 villages in India producing milk.
The below ad of Amul captures it all-

In Dr. Kurien’s words, ‘India’s places in the Sun would come from the partnership between wisdom of its rural people and skill of its professionals’.

In the SMW Mumbai, Day 5, 20th November 2015 at IMDI was a workshop on writing. The workshop – SPINNING CONTENT – WRITING FOR THE WEB was hosted by Blogadda and conducted by Parineeta Mehra.

BlogAdda.com was started in 2007 and from there it has grown to become the largest community of bloggers in India. It is a platform for bloggers to connect with each other, showcase their blogs and participate in interesting activities. The Adda has given writers various avenues to introduce their blogs to a large audience and interact with their readers.

Tangy Tuesday and Spicy Saturday Picks – These blog posts are handpicked every week to be featured on BlogAdda, widening the reach of the blogger.

Collectives– Curated content sourced from various blogs which have a common thread.
W.O.W- Bloggers write on prompts given every week and the best of them are featured on the site.

Contests– BlogAdda gives bloggers to participate in exciting contests, create great content and win exciting prizes!

Book Reviews– Readers can get their hands on new books and write reviews for them on their blog.

Perky Tweets– The best and funniest tweets of the week are picked every week for your enjoyment

The introduction to each other was done in the most unusual way where we were given a paper to draw the city we belonged to, our food, our hobbies and our goal (what would you be 5 years from now). Each of us drew but were not allowed to describe or write about it but simply draw. Then we paired up with the person next to us. The other person had to create a ‘six-word story’ from what we drew. It was a fun and exciting game. I had never introduced myself in this way. In fact, it was not me who introduced but the other person gave the introduction of me in ‘six-words’ and vice –versa.

In the second exercise, we were divided into groups and were given an article to read, highlight the keywords and make a chart giving a visual presentation of it in the form of a drawing of what we understood. All got down to work as a team and soon the chart was ready. Each team had then to give a presentation of the same. The charts were put up on the board for ‘best chart’. The best chart team got a Bourneville Chocolate.

Finally, group photo of all in this workshop giving a thumbs-up and few takeaways from this workshop:
  • Teamwork
  • Networking
  • Introducing yourself in a different way
  • How to write better blogs? Writing original and creative content.

Thank you, Blogadda for such a wonderful workshop.
